Rising local COVID cases trigger concern in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The increasing local COVID-19 positive cases in Odisha have triggered apprehension that community transmission may have set in.

A total of 143 positive cases were reported on Wednesday. Out of this, 11 were locals without any travel history while 132 cases were reported from quarantine centres.

31 cases reported on Tuesday were locals without any travel history.

The total Coronavirus positive cases increased to 2388 in Odisha. The active case is 1054.

Institute of Life Sciences (ILS) Director Ajay Parida said there is no community transmission in Odisha yet.

Almost all cases are being reported from quarantine centres, he added.
