Snana Yatra: Section 144 CrPC around Jagannath Temple


Bhubaneswar: The Puri district administration has imposed Section 144 CrPC around Srimandir ahead of the ‘Snana Yatra’ of Lord Jagannath.

Auspicious ‘Snana Yatra’ of Lord Sri Jagannath will be held on 5th June in Shree Mandir, Puri.

As lockdown is in force for COVID-19, all the rituals and ‘Neetis’ will be observed as per the guideline issued by the government.

Entry of public is not allowed in religious shrines and congregation of more than 7 persons is not permissible in public places. Besides, to maintain social distance norm and to avoid crowd on Badadanda, Section 144 CrPC has been imposed in the areas near Shree Jagannath Temple.

The district administration is taking all possible steps to successfully observe this important occasion. 

Keeping in view the COVID-19 situation, the state government has arranged live telecast of the event through Doordarshan.

This telecast will be available on other TV channels and social media. Information & Public Relations Department will ensure the smooth live-telecast of divine occasion.
