Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Thursday cancelled all pending final semester and final year exams of various Under Graduate and Post Graduate courses for 2019-29 academic session in view of the COVID-19 situation in the state.

The government said that an alternative method of evaluation will be used instead of exams for final year students.

Universities and Autonomous colleges will follow evaluation methodology recommended by UGC for evaluation or final/final semester examination and results should be published by the end of August.

If any student wants to appear the exams, he/she can appear it in November this year, said the Higher Education Department.

The exams of students with more than two back papers in final semester/ final year exams also stand cancelled.

The back paper evaluation will be done as per proportionate quotient (P-Q) or any other alternate method.
