Bhubaneswar: As many as 16 new COVID-19 positive cases were detected in Bhubaneswar in last 24 hours, informed Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Sunday.
Out of 16 cases, 14 cases have been reported from home quarantine and two are local cases, said the BMC.
“Further contact tracing is still continuing. Primary contacts & nearby houses are being quarantined, sanitised & will be under active surveillance,” it said.
Highest 3 cases reported from Sree Vihar (Patia), 2 cases each from Jaydev Vihar and Sastri Nagar.
Of two local cases, one has been reported from Kapileswar Vihar in Palasuni. The case is a 25-year-old male with recent travel history to Bhadrak.
Another case is a 32-year-old male, a service provider at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar.
The COVID-19 positive cases in Bhubaneswar rose to 122 with 58 active cases. While 60 have recovered, 3 patients have succumbed to the virus so far.
