Online liquor delivery

Liquor to be available at counters in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government on Tuesday gave permission for offline sale of liquor from registered counters across the state from July 1 onwards.

The sale of liquor would also continue to be available online, said a notification of Excuse department.

The licensed ‘OFF’ and ‘ON’ shops will be allowed to sell on the counter and home delivery based on the following conditions:

1: The opening hours to be rescheduled to 7 am to 6 pm (to avoid evening crowds).

2: ON shops are being allowed to operate as OFF shops for the purpose of counter sale. This will increase the number of outlets and will thus help in checking overcrowding. ‘ON’ shop licensees will have to follow MRP and other norms applicable for OFF shops.

3: In order to regulate the crowd at the shops, an online system for generation for e-token for slot booking has been developed by OSBC with NIC’s help for taking a prior appointment to visit the shops.

Retailers have to ensure that customers take a prior appointment to visit their premises with the help of the above facility to avoid overcrowding.

This available on OSBC portal (http:/osbc.co.in) under the link “e-token for slot booking”. The portal is mobile compatible and the link can be stored on the home screen by choosing the feature “add to home screen”.

The e-token so generated can be downloaded from the link received through SMS in the mobile.
