Bhubaneswar: Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Niranjan Patnaik on Sunday suggested the state government to start ‘Sudarshan’ and ‘Subhadra’ schemes to help unemployed youth, small and marginal farmers and women.
“The govt should start a ‘Sudarshan’ scheme to help unemployed youth, small & marginal farmers, migrant labourers by transferring Rs 7,500 per month for next 6 months,” said Patnaik.
“The government should start a ‘Subhadra’ scheme to empower mothers & sisters economically. Today, 4.27 lakh women societies need financial help,” said the PCC president.
Considering the difficult times people are facing, the government should listen to Congress’ suggestions, he added.
The statement of PCC president came days after the BJD government launched Balaram Yojana to provide loan for landless farmers.
“BJD govt’s rushed approach in launching ‘Balaram’ scheme will most likely end in another failure like ‘Kalia’ scheme,” said the Congress leader.
