Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has set a target to enhance solar power production capacity to 1500MW by 2022.
Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy, presiding over a high-level meeting held in Lok Seba Bhawan here on Monday, directed Green Energy Development Corporation Ltd (GEDCOL) to bring out a detail work plan for the production of commercial solar power in the state.
He directed to adopt latest technology for reducing the cost of production per unit of solar power.
As of now, around 474 MW Solar Power Plant have already been installed through GEDCOL and OREDA. Target has been set to enhance solar power production capacity to 1500MW by 2022.
Finance secretary A. K. Meena, Energy secretary Nikunja Bihari Dhal, GEDCOL chairman Bishnupada Sethi and other senior officers were present in the meeting.
