ECoR to cancel three trains running within Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The East Coast Railway (ECoR) has decided to cancel three trains running within Odisha, said an official on Tuesday.

 In view of demands from the public for urgent movement within the state and to carry stranded passengers who were unable to reach their home during the lockdown, East Coast Railway had introduced intra-state Special Trains from 8th to 30th June 2020.

Later the services of these trains were further extended from 1st to 31st, July, 2020.

Reviewing the passenger profile management and in view of increase in spread of COVID-19 positive cases, it is seen that, three trains are running with extremely poor patronisation.

In view of this, it has been decided to cancel the services of these three trains, Bhubaneswar-Bhadrak-Bhubaneswar, Bhubaneswar-Brahmapur-Bhubaneswar and Sambalpur-Khurda Road-Sambalpur Special Trains as per following-

• 08303/08304 Sambalpur-Khurda Road-Sambalpur Tri-weekly Special Train from both the directions w.e.f. 10th July, 2020 will remain cancelled.

• 08492/08491 Bhubaneswar-Bhadrak-Bhubaneswar Tri-weekly Special from Bhubaneswar w.e.f. 13th July and from Bhadrak w.e.f. 14th July, 2020 will remain cancelled.

• 08437/08438 Bhubaneswar-Brahmapur-Bhubaneswar Tri-weekly Special from Bhubaneswar w.e.f. 13th July and from Brahmapur w.e.f. 14th July, 2020 will remain cancelled.
