Reliance Jio tops in mobile subscriber additions in Odisha

Jio adds over 7 lakh new subscribers in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Marching ahead with its complete market dominance in Odisha, Reliance Jio has added over 1.9 lakh subscribers in the month of March 2020, as per the mobile subscriber data released by Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), recently.

After becoming No. 1 with complete market leadership with highest number of subscribers as well as highest share of revenue in Odisha in December 2019, Reliance Jio has added over seven lakh new subscribers in the state in the first three months of 2020.

During the same period Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea together lost over six lakh users in the state, as per the subscriber data released by TRAI.

In the month of March 2020, Reliance Jio emerged as the most preferred mobile service provider in Odisha adding over 1.9 lakh subscribers while both Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea lost lakhs of users in the same month.

Other than Jio, only BSNL added 52000 subscribers in the month while Vodafone Idea lost 1.83 lakhs subscribers followed by Bharti Airtel which lost 1.07 lakh subscribers in March 2020, revealed the mobile subscriber data released by TRAI recently.

Overall mobile subscriber base in Odisha witnessed a decline of 47595 subscribers in the month. As per the TRAI data for March 2020, Reliance Jio leads the market with 1,25,15,137 subscribers and 37.55% customer market share.

The rapid and continuous rise in the number of Jio subscribers in the state has been fuelled by its all 4G network, fast expansion of its 4G network coverage in the hitherto unconnected hinterlands and the hugely popular affordable ‘JioPhone – India ka Smartphone’ among the rural as well as semi-urban population.

Nationally also, Jio further consolidated its position as the No. 1 mobile service provider with addition of around 47 lakh subscribers in March 2020, as per the data released by TRAI.
