Odisha govt announces incentives for doctors, paramedics


Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Monday approved an incentive for doctors, paramedics and Class-IV employees engaged in several COVID-19 health facilities.

The doctors engaged in several dedicated COVID hospitals, COVID Health Centres and COVID Care Centres (CCC) will get an incentive of Rs 1,000 per day, said a notification of the health department.

The paramedics including staff nurses, pharmacists, radiographers and laboratory technicians will get an incentive of Rs 500 per day.

The daily incentive of Class IV employees has been fixed at Rs 200.

They are entitled for the incentive for those days they are on COVID-19 duty.

The government will bear the expenditure from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF).

Meanwhile, the government has made a provision of Rs 7500 for handling and disposal of each Covid positive dead body. The amount will be spent from CMRF.
