Odisha records all-time high of Covid-19 cases


Bhubaneswar: Odisha recorded 1264 Covid-19 positive cases, biggest single-day spike, taking the total number of such cases to 21,099, said the health department on Thursday.

While 847 cases were reported from quarantine centres, 417 cases are local contacts.

Worst affected Ganjam district also reported highest single day spike of 540 cases.

The fresh cases have been reported from 27  districts: Angul: 7, Balasore: 9, Bargarh: 24, Bhadrak: 30, Balangir: 1, Boudh: 2, Cuttack: 47, Dhenkanal: 6, Gajapati: 74,  Ganjam: 540, Jagatsinghpur: 4, Jajpur: 17, Jharsuguda: 3, Kalahandi: 7, Kandhamal: 29, Kendrapada: 8, Keonjhar: 25, Khordha: 137, Koraput: 27, Mayurbhanj: 15, Nabarangpur: 4, Nayagarh: 61, Nuapada: 1 , Puri: 22, Rayagada: 84, Sambalpur: 20 and  Sundargarh: 60.

With this, the active cases have increased to 7205.
