Girl arrested for duping retired doctor in Odisha

Angul: Talcher police has arrested a girl for allegedly duping Rs 4.57 lakh from a retired homoeopathy doctor in Odisha’s Angul district.

The police arrested the girl after the doctor lodged a complaint.

By posing as a finance company executive, the girl came in contact with the retired doctor in an insurance policy related matter last year and developed acquaintance with him.

The doctor alleged that the girl managed to obtain his ATM PIN and OTP.

He found that Rs 4.57 lakh has been withdrawn in instalments from his account. “Another case has been registered against the accused at the Colliery police station in connection with fraud to the tune of Rs 1.05 lakh. Further investigation in both the cases is continuing,” said Angul SP, Jagmohan Meena.
