1643 Covid positive cases, 12 deaths in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Odisha reported 1643 new COVID-19 cases and 12 deaths in the last 24 hours, informed the health department on Saturday.

The number of COVID-19 positive cases increased to 44, 193 while the death toll in the state reached 259.

Of the fresh fatalities, two deaths reported each from Ganjam, Khurda, Kandhamal and Keonjhar district, and one each from Balasore, Bhadrak, Gajapati and Sundergarh district.

Of the 1643 new cases, 1018 cases were reported from quarantines and 625 are local contact cases.

Ganjam and Khordha district reported maximum 274 COVID-19 cases each followed by Rayagada (136), Sundergarh (118), Sambalpur (112) and Cuttack (98).
