Bhubaneswar: Odisha reported the highest single-day spike of 2924 Covid-19 positive cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total number to 60,050, informed the health department on Sunday.
Ten more patients succumbed to the disease, taking the toll to 343 in the state.
Two deaths each reported from Ganjam and Khordha districts and one each from Bhadrak, Balangir, Cuttack, Jajpur, Kandhamal and Subarnapur districts.
Out of 2924 new positives cases, 1815 case are reported from different quarantine centres while 1109 are local contacts. Khordha district reported the maximum number of cases (488).
With this, the number of active cases in the state rose to 18928 while 40726 persons have recovered so far.
