Odisha govt gives compulsory retirement to another officer


Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has ordered compulsory retirement of Pradeep Kumar Mohanty, former Chief District Agriculture Officer of Koraput.

Mohanty was arrested by Vigilance officials after cash worth Rs 11 lakh was seized from his vehicle on July 2.

He was placed under suspension following his arrest on graft charge.

The anti-corruption wing estimated total value of the tainted officer’s movable and immovable assets amounting to Rs 3.5 crore.

Last week, Bibhu Prasad Sarangi, former Ayush director, accused of allegedly sexually harassing a woman employee had been given premature retirement from his service.
