Positive rate in BMC area is 6.29%

Bhubaneswar: The positivity rate in Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) area is 6.29 per cent and the recovery rate is 61.80 per cent, informed an official on Saturday.

BMC Commissioner Prem Chandra Chaudhary said that out of 1,01,542 testing done so far,  6720 cases were found Covid positive while 4061 have recovered and discharged.

He also said that 2618 persons are active as of now and 675 persons are in home isolation.

Every day 8-9 camps are functioning for testing, he added.

Sanat Kumar Mohanty, Khurdha district collector said that out of total testing in rural areas, 3436 positive cases were identified, while 1423 cases are active so far. 

Out of total positive cases tested in the district including BMC, 35 per cent cases are from rural areas.

Maximum positive cases are found from Banpur, Tangi, Balugaon and Bolagarh Blocks.
