Decision on reduction of syllabus by Aug end: Minister


Bhubaneswar: In view of the Covid-19 pandemic, the state government would announce the reduced syllabus for the academic year 2020-21 in a week, said School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash on Sunday.

The Minister said that the department secretary is scrutinising the proposals submitted by expert committees of the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), and State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) in this regard.

Dash said the final decision on reduction of syllabus will come out by the end of August.

On opening of schools, the Minister said the state government will take a decision after reviewing the COVID situation in the state.

All schools in the state are now closed till August 31.
