Bhubaneswar: A total of 55,29,680 number of beneficiaries are eligible for getting assistance under KALIA Yojana in Odisha, said an official on Wednesday.
The government has prepared the Kalia Yojana list.
After the meeting of agriculture cabinet committee headed by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Agriculture secretary Saurabh Garg said the eligible beneficiaries would get assistance in future.
KALIA Yojana update (Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation)
Components of KALIA Yojana have been implemented from 2018-19 :
1. Support to Cultivators for Cultivation.
2. Livelihood Support for Landless Agriculture Households.
An extensive verification process was started in August 2019, along with grievance redressal mechanism which was opened on KALIA Portal with simultaneous field and State level verification to facilitate addressing the grievances of existing beneficiaries in the database as well as inviting new applications.
The government started the verification process so that no one will be deprived of getting KALIA assistance, which is still continuing.
At present, 55,29,680 number of beneficiaries are eligible for getting KALIA assistance.
It is also programmed to implement KALIA Scholarship Programme for the children of KALIA beneficiaries on a common scholarship Platform.
BALARAM (Bhoomihina Agriculturist Loan & Resources Augmentation Model)
This scheme has been formulated by the Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment in association with NABARD.
The main objective of the scheme is to augment flow of credit to farmers cultivating land as sharecroppers.
The target of the scheme is to form 1 lakh Joint Liability Groups(JLGs) covering at least 5 lakh farmers mainly from among those who are sharecroppers using ATMA (Agricultural Technology Management Agency) platform of the Agriculture Department over the next 3 years.
