Bhubaneswar: The Odisha unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) criticised the state government for depriving eligible farmers of benefit under Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation (KALIA) scheme.
The party said the state government is not making public about the number of farmers covered under Kalia Yojana or the amount of money disbursed so far under the scheme.
BJP general secretary Prithviraj Harichandan and BJP Kishan Morcha president Pradip Purohit said it is unfortunate that the government has failed to disburse assistance under Kalia scheme.
This is nothing but to mislead the farmers, they said.
The BJP leaders said the Centre has released the sixth dose of assistance under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Nidhi Samman (PM-Kisan) Yojana.
