Odisha reports highest single-day surge of 3991 Covid cases

Bhubaneswar: Odisha has reported the highest single-day surge of 3991 new Covid-19 positive cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total caseload to 1,39,121 in the state, informed the health department on Thursday.

While 2315 cases were reported in quarantine, 1676 were local contacts.

Khurda district reported the highest 687 positive cases followed by Cuttack (392) and Puri (332).

The Covid-19 death toll increased to 591 as 11 positive patients died in last 24 hours while under treatment in hospitals.
