Highest spike! Odisha reports 4270 Covid-19 cases

Bhubaneswar: As many as 4270 fresh Covid-19 cases, highest single-day spike so far, have been detected in Odisha in the last 24 hours, informed the health department on Wednesday.

The state’s total Covid-19 tally has mounted to 162920.

The number of active cases in the state rose to 36473 while 1,25,748 patients have recovered so far.

The death toll due to Coronavirus has increased to 656 as 11 patients succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours, the department said.

Of the total 4270 fresh Covid-19 cases, 2478 have been reported from quarantine centres while remaining 1792 were local contacts.

Khordha district recorded highest 876 cases followed by Cuttack (374) and Puri (287).
