Odisha’s Covid-19 tally breaches 2 lakh mark


Bhubaneswar:  Odisha’s Covid-19 tally breached 2 lakh-mark with the detection of 4208 fresh cases in the last 24 hours, said a health official on Friday.

The tally now stands at 2,01,096.

The death toll due to Coronavirus rose to 767 in the state as 15 patients succumbed to the disease in last 24 hours.

Of the total fresh cases, 2462 have been reported from different quarantine centres while remaining 1746 were local contacts.

Khordha recorded highest 725 fresh cases followed by Cuttack (465) and Jajpur (237).

With the new cases, the number of active cases in the state rose to 39,232. 

Meanwhile, Odisha reached 3 million Covid-19 test milestone.

“It gives me immense pleasure to share that we have reached 3 million #COVID19 test milestone. Thank healthcare personnel and all those who are working round the clock to ramp up testing, strengthening #Odisha’s fight against the pandemic,” tweeted Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

So far, 30,09,183 tests have been conducted in the state.
