Odisha’s Covid tally rise to 2.62 lakh, death toll to 1089


Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s COVID-19 positive tally increased to2,62,011 as 2470 persons infected with the virus in the last 24 hours, informed the health department on Thursday.

Of the total fresh cases detected from all 30 districts, 1462 have been reported from different quarantine centres while remaining 1008 are local contact cases.

Khordha district recorded highest 368 fresh cases followed by Cuttack (186) and Angul (170).

The death toll due to Coronavirus rose to 1089 with 17 more patients succumbing to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours.

While 4 COVID-19 patients succumbed to the virus in Khordha district, 3 each died in Cuttack and Sundargarh districts. The virus claimed 2 more lives in Ganjam district and each 1 died in Balasore, Boudh, Jajpur, Kalahandi and Nayagarh districts.  

The number of active cases in the state rose to 25,106. As many as 2,35,763 patients have recovered in the state so far.
