East Coast Railway to run four more special trains


Bhubaneswar: East Coast Railway (ECoR) has decided to run four more special trains in its jurisdiction till further advice.

These are – Visakhapatnam-Rayagada-Visakhapatnam, Palasa-Visakhapatnam-Palasa, Palasa-Bhubaneswar-Palasa and Sambalpur-Rayagada-Sambalpur.

08508/08507 Visakhapatnam-Rayagada-Visakhapatnam Special Express

088508 Visakhapatnam-Rayagada Special from Visakhapatnam will leave at 1650hrs daily w.e.f. 15th November, 2020 and will reach at Rayagada at 2100hrs.

In the return direction, 08507 Rayagada-Visakhapatnam  Special from Rayagada will leave at 0515hrs daily w.e.f. 16th November, 2020 and will reach at Visakhapatnam at 0925hrs. 

This Train has 10 Second Class Seating Coach and Two Guard cum Luggage Vans in it’s composition having stoppages at Simanchalam, Kottavalasa, Vizianagaram, Gajapatinagaram, Bobbili and Parvatipuram between Visakhapatnam and Rayagada from both the directions.

08531/08532 Palasa-Visakhapatnam-Palasa Special Express

08531 Palasa-Visakhapatnam Special from Palasa will leave at 0525hrs daily w.e.f. 16th November, 2020 and will reach at Visakhapatnam at 1000hrs.

In the return direction, 08532 Visakhapatnam-Palasa Special from Visakhapatnam will leave at 1835hrs daily w.e.f. 15th November, 2020 and will arrive at Palasa at 2330hrs.

This Train has 14 Second Class Seating Coach and Two Guard cum Luggage Vans in it’s composition having stoppages at Naupada, Tilaru, Srikakulam Road, Ponduru, Chipurupalli, Vizianagaram, Kottavalasa and Simanchalam between Palasa and Visakhapatnam from both the directions.

08434/08433 Palasa-Bhubaneswar-Palasa Special Express

08534 Palasa-Bhubaneswar Special from Palasa will leave at 0600hrs daily w.e.f. 16th November, 2020 and will reach at Bhubaneswar at 1010hrs.

In the return direction, 08533 Bhubaneswar-Palasa Special from Bhubaneswar will leave at 1820hrs daily w.e.f. 15th November, 2020 and will arrive at Palasa at 2240hrs.

This Train has 16 Second Class Reserved Seating Coach in it’s composition having stoppages at Sompeta, Ichhapuram, Brahmapur, Chhatrapur, Khalikot, Balugaon, Kalupadaghat, Nirakarpur and Khurda Road between Palasa and Bhubaneswar from both the directions.

08301/08302 Sambalpur-Rayagada-Sambalpur Special Express

08301 Sambalpur-Rayagada Special from Sambalpur will leave at 0605hrs daily w.e.f. 15th November, 2020 and will reach at Rayagada at 1240hrs. In the return direction, 08302 Rayagada-Sambalpur Special from Rayagada will leave at 1405hrs daily w.e.f. 15th November, 2020 and will arrive at Sambalpur at 2020hrs.

This Train has One Sleeper Class, Six Second Class Seating and Two Guard cum Luggage Vans in it’s composition having stoppages at Hirakud, Attabira, Bargarh Road, Barpali, Loisinga, Balangir, Sainthala, Badmal, Titilagarh, Kesinga, Rupra Road, Norla Road, Lanjigarh Road, Ambodala, Muniguda, Theruvali and Singapur Road between Sambalpur and Rayagada from both the directions.

Services of festival special withdrawn:

Due to less patronization, it has been decided to withdraw the services of Bhubaneswar-Bangiriposi-Bhubaneswar, Puri-Barbil-Puri, Puri-Paradeep-Puri, Visakhapatnam-Vijayawada-Visakhapatnam and Puri-Howrah-Puri weekly Special as per the following.

02892/02891 Bhubaneswar-Bangiriposi-Bhubaneswar Festival Special from Bhubaneswar w.e.f. 12th November and from Bangiriposi w.e.f. 13th November, 2020 will remain cancelled.

08416/08415 Puri-Barbil-Puri Festival Special from Puri w.e.f. 13th November and from Barbil w.e.f. 14th November, 2020 will remain cancelled. 

08414/08413 Puri-Paradeep-Puri Festival Special both from Puri and Paradeep w.e.f. 12th November will remain cancelled.

02705/02706 Visakhapatnam_Vijayawada-Visakhapatnam Festival Special both from Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada w.e.f. 12th November, 2020 will remain cancelled.

02896/02895 Puri-Howrah-Puri Weekly Festival Special from Puri w.e.f. 12th November and from Howrah w.e.f. 13th November, 2020 will remain cancelled.

Reviewing the passenger profile management, it is seen that, the above trains are running with extremely poor patronisation. In view of this, it has been decided to cancel the services of these five pairs of trains.
