Jio extends leadership in Odisha telecom market

Bhubaneswar: Further consolidating its leadership position in Odisha telecom market, Reliance Jio has added over 1.9 lakh new users in the month of August 2020.

With this, Jio now has over 40.28% customer market share in Odisha with 1.34 crore mobile subscribers in the state followed by Airtel with 32.2% market share.

Odisha is among only three states in the country where Jio has surpassed 40% customer market share in the telecom sector.

As per the telecom subscriber data released by TRAI for August 2020, Reliance Jio added the highest 1.90 lakh users in the state.

While both Airtel and BSNL lost subscribers during this period, Vodafone Idea witnessed marginal increase. The total mobile subscriber base in Odisha witnessed an increase of 1.78 lakh in August and reached 3.33 crores as on 31st August 2020.

As per the latest financial report on the sector published by TRAI, Jio has surpassed 50% market share in gross revenue in the state, consolidating its No. 1 position in both customer and revenue market share in Odisha.
