‘Bande Utkala Janani’ to be part of school curriculum

Bhubaneswar: The state anthem ‘Bande Utkala Janani’ will be now part of the high school curriculum in Odisha, said an official on Friday.

‘Bande Utkala Janani’ penned by legendary poet Lakhmikanta Mohapatra will be part of the school curriculum in the classes of 9th and 10th.

A notification in this regard has been issued following the approval of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, said a statement from CMO.

Notably, the state government has accorded atate anthem status to the song.
