School fee waiver: HC seeks clarification from Odisha govt

Cuttack: The Orissa High Court on Monday sought clarifications from the state government over the issue of waiver of school fees in view of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The court asked the government to clarify on how much fees of students in private schools can be waived in the state.

The court was hearing PILs seeking exemption of school fees for students of private schools in view of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The court has also directed the state government to submit an affidavit in the connection with the issue at the earliest.

The next hearing is scheduled to be held on December 2.
