Gopalpur MLA Pradip Panigrahi arrested

Bhubaneswar: The Crime Branch (CB) of Odisha Police on Thursday arrested Gopalpur Pradip Kumar Panigrahi for allegedly collecting money by promising jobs in Tata company.

The CB said evidence has come to light that Panigrahi collected money on behalf of Akash Kumar Pathak, falsely promising jobs in Tata company to people.

This case relates to impersonation, cheating, forgery, criminal conspiracy and other cyber offences by Akash Kumar Pathak, posing himself as in charge Managing Director of Tata Motors passenger car division.

Notably, Akash Pathak and his father IFS Abhay Kant Pathak have been arrested by the Vigilance for amassing assets disproportionate to their income.

Akash was expected to marry Panigrahi’s daughter in December.
