Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) postponed the Odisha Civil Services -2019 (Main) examination scheduled to be held on Tuesday (December 8) in view of the Bharat Bandh by the farmers.
“Taking into cognizance of the difficulties to be faced by the candidates in approaching the examination centres due to Bharat Bandh, the OCS-2019 Main Examination (GS-I and GS-II) scheduled to be held on December 8 is hereby postponed,” said an OPSC notice.
It said the OCS-2019 Main Examination will be conducted on January 2, 2021.
Notably, farmers have announced Bharat Bandh on December 8 protesting the new farm laws passed by the Centre. It has been supported by several political parties including the Left and Congress.
The candidates were worried as the general studies Paper-I and II were scheduled to be held on December 8.
The candidates were about to appear the papers at their respective centres in Puri, Balasore, Ganjam, Sambalpur, Cuttack and Bhubaneswar.
