10th students to appear 80 marks per subject in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash on Sunday said the students will appear for 80 marks of question for each subject during the Odisha Matric Exam-2021.

The Minister said this has been done to reduce stress on the students who have been affected due to COVID-19 pandemic.

The examination papers will comprise 50 marks of objective and 30 marks of subjective questions. However, the evaluation will be done for 100 marks as the marks for the rest 20 will be awarded as per the marks obtained by a student for 80 marks of question, the minister said.

He said the examinations will be held in scheduled  time and the results will be declared within 45-50 days of conclusion of the examinations.

Notably, the state government had on Saturday  declared reopening of schools for Class 10 and 12 students from January 8.

The board exam of Class 10 students will be held from May 3 to 15 and for Class 12 students from May 15 to June 11.
