Second consignment of Covishield reaches Odisha


Bhubaneswar: The second consignment of Covishield from Serum Institute of India (SII), Pune reached Odisha by SpiceJet cargo flight on Tuesday.

The state received 3,34,500 doses of Covid-19 vaccines. Vaccine packets shifted to state vaccine store from where the vials will be dispatched to districts, informed a health official.

This will cover all health care beneficiaries of the state, the official said.

Meanwhile, the health department said the healthcare workers refusing to take COVID-19 vaccine during the ongoing immunisation drive in the state will not be allowed for free vaccination again.

However, those remain absent will be vaccinated free of cost in the next phase of the drive, Health and Family Welfare Director Bijay Panigrahi said.
