Bhubaneswar: As many as 4267 driving licenses (DLs) have been suspended in the last 21 days in Odisha, informed the State Transport Authority (STA) on Friday.
The DLs have been suspended for three months on the charges of various traffic violations in different parts of the state.
“4267 DLs suspended from 1st to 21st Jan. DL is suspended for 3 months in drunken driving, over speeding, jumping red light, using mobile while driving, carrying passengers out taking overload on goods vehicle, non-wearing of helmet by both rider & pillion etc,” tweeted STA.
The DL of 78 persons were suspended for drunken driving, 2688 persons were penalised for non-wearing of helmets and the license of 728 persons were suspended for rash driving and over speed.
255 DLs have been suspended for using mobile phone during driving, the STA said.
