Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has spent Rs 6690.86 crore under KALIA Yojana in 3 years, informed Agriculture Minister Arun Kumar Sahoo on Wednesday.
Replying to a written question of BJP MLA Nauri Nayak, Sahoo informed the state Assembly that in 2017-18 and 2019-20, a total of 51.05 lakh small and marginal farmers and landless farming families were provided assistance under the Kalia Yojana.
Rs 2,175.66 crore has been spent on farmer assistance and administrative expenditure in 2017-18. Similarly, Rs 3243.01 crore was spent in 2019-20, the Minister said.
A total of 53.55 lakh small and marginal farming families and landless farmer labourers have been provided KALIA assistance in 2020-21. As of February, Rs 1,272.19 crore has been spent for the purpose, the Minister said.
The state government has launched the KALIA scheme to provide financial assistance to the farmers in the state.
