Big surge in Covid-19 cases in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Odisha witnessed a big spike in its daily COVID-19 cases with 394 persons testing positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.

With this, the state’s total caseload surged to 3,41,311, informed the health department on Thursday.

Khordha topped the list with 70 new cases followed by Kalahandi with 43 cases, Nuapada 40, Bargarh 34 and Sundargarh 31 cases.

Of the total fresh cases, detected from 25 districts, 231 are quarantine cases while remaining 163 are local contact cases. Contact tracing and follow-up action is underway, said Information and Public Relation (I & PR) Department.

With the fresh cases, the number of total active cases mounted to 2246. So far 3,37,091 patients have recovered from the disease.
