Bhubaneswar: The Covid-19 tally in Odisha jumped to 3,46,808 after 1,282 more people tested positive for the infection in the last 24 hours, informed the health department on Friday.
This is the highest single-day rise this year. On November 9 last year, the state had reported 1219 new infections.
The virus also claimed one more life in the last 24 hours as the death toll rose to 1924.
Of the new cases detected from 28 districts, 755 were reported from quarantine while the rest 527 were local transmission cases.
Sundargarh reported the highest 224 cases followed by Khorhda (192), Kalahandi (108), Bargarh (84), Sambalpur (82), Nuapada (82), Cuttack (63), Mayurbhanj (52), Angul (49) and Bolangir (45).
With this, active cases in the state have increased to 5941.
