Mandatory quarantine for West Bengal returnees: Odisha govt


Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Thursday said people coming from West Bengal to Odisha will have to undergo 14-day quarantine.

Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra said people returning from West Bengal to Odisha have to undergo 14-day mandatory quarantine if they fail to produce RT-PCR negative report or vaccination certificate.

Border check posts will be set up to screen the returnees.

In view of triple mutant of Covid-19 in West Bengal and other states, the state government has taken the decision.

Any person who has been successfully vaccinated (two doses) and produces certificate to this effect or tested negative in RT-PCR test within 48 hours of entering Odisha, may be allowed home quarantine for 14 days.

However, in case of non-compliance of the Covid protocols and home quarantine guidelines, such person shall be quarantined in institutional facility for 14 days.
