Bhubaneswar: In a special initiative to spread awareness against the fake news and limit its impact upon the society, SOA’s community radio, Voice of SOA 90.4 FM started a programme known as ‘Fact Shaala’ where various personnel from media fraternity will inform people about the impact of fake news and how to check the authenticity of the news.
The programme will be aired every weekend on Saturday and Sunday on 7am in the morning, 1pm in afternoon and 7pm in the evening respectively.
In the previous session, senior journalist and Director of Public Relation, SOA university, Paresh Das discussed about various types of information with RJ Shabnam.
Similarly, the working editor of News7, a leading Odia news channel, Debanarayan Sethi, briefed about how to verify the news with the method of ‘stop, check and go’ with RJ KP and RJ Shabnam.
A senior journalist of Sambad newspaper, Sudam Bhattamishra clarified about ‘what is news’ while the Public Relation officer of SOA university, Subhadarshini Mishra, talked about biased news coverage in media with both the RJs.
Further, RJ Ramabhallav, RJ Shabnam and RJ Gaura discussed about how news are published based on misinformation in different media houses. However, through narrowcasting, SOA radio is trying connect to different people by visiting different places and aware them regarding the fake news.
