Covid claims three members of MP’s family in 12 days

Bhubaneswar: Covid-19, now striking terror everywhere, has claimed three members of a single family here within a span of 12 days.

Eminent sculptor and member of Rajya Sabha, Padmabhushan Raghunath Mohapatra had succumbed to the corona virus at AIIMS Bhubaneswar on May 9.

His second son Prasanta Mohapatra, former captain of the Odisha Ranji Trophy cricket team, died of the infection in the same hospital yesterday.

The sculptor’s eldest son Jashobanta Mohapatra, who was shifted to the SUM Covid Hospital from AIIMS yesterday in a critical state, passed away on Thursday inspite of all efforts of the medical team. He was 52.
