Bhubaneswar: Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA) joined the rest of the country on Sunday in celebrating the 75th anniversary of India’s independence with the Vice-chancellor Prof. Ashok Kumar Mahapatra unfurling the tri-colour.
Referring to the Covid-19 pandemic that had tormented the world for more than one and half years now, Prof. Mahapatra said it had badly impacted the social, economic and mental fabric of the world.
The primary responsibility of the people now was to help the administration battle this pandemic by themselves adhering to the Covid guidelines.
Though India had gained political independence, the people needed to achieve mental and economic freedom, he said.
Besides the Vice-chancellor, several top University officials were present and joined in singing of the national anthem.

Ray, Principal Advisor to SOA President, Prof. Bibhuti Bhushan Pradhan, SOA Registrar, Mr. Bhisma Charan Das, Joint Registrar, Prof. Priyabrata Pattnaik, Additional Dean (Research), Mr. Jugal Kishore Das, Chief Vigilance officer and Director (Resource) and Prof. Nachiketa K. Sharma, Director, University Outreach Program.
