Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik launched smart health card under Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY) during his visit to Malkangiri on Friday.
The Chief Minister handed over the smart health cards to the beneficiaries.
The scheme will be implemented in the state from September 1st. The people would get treatment facilities in over 200 hospitals across the country, said Patnaik.
The government has planned to distribute a total of 1,55, 823 smart health cards in Malkangiri district.
Around 3.5 crore people in the state will get smart health cards.
Each family will be covered by health insurance of Rs 5 lakh and woman of Rs 10 lakh per annum under the scheme.
Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana is a scheme of the Odisha government, which aims to provide universal health coverage, with special emphasis on the health protection of economically vulnerable families.
