Puri Jagannath temple reopens for general public


Puri: Jagannath Temple reopened for all devotees in adherence to Covid-19 protocols on Monday.

The devotees will have darshan of the deities inside Srimandir after a hiatus of almost 4 months.

The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) recently reopened the 12th-century shrine in a phased manner.

As per the guidelines, devotees can have darshan of the deities between 7 am and 7 pm on all weekdays except Saturdays and Sundays.

Barricades have been installed to make sure devotees maintain physical distancing and as many as eight kiosks have been set up to facilitate proper sanitization.

Documents required for entry into Jagannath Temple

The devotees visiting the 12th-century shrine are asked to produce the Final Certificate for Covid-19 vaccination (of having taken two doses) or COVID-19 negative certificate (RTPCR) of testing done within 96 hours prior to their visit to the temple.

Visitors will also be required to bring their photo ID Card-Aadhaar/Voter ID etc.

Feedback Centre for devotees

The Puri police has set up a feedback centre for devotees outside the shrine. The visitors can also submit their feedback online.

“In view of Opening of Shree Jagannath Temple from tomorrow, all arrangements for hassle-free dharshan of devotees have been made. Detailed briefing of force and officers has been conducted. A feedback centre has been opened for devotees. Devotees can give feedback online also,” said Puri SP.
