Bhubaneswar: The pending semester examinations in law colleges under Utkal University will be held online, informed an official on Wednesday.
University Exam controller Sharat Kumar Majhi said semester exams will be held in online mode.
“The pending examinations of law students will be held in online mode. The pending exams will be conducted on an emergency basis. However, adequate gaps will be given between each test so that students get adequate time to prepare,” he said.
The university authorities took the decision after the law students staged a demonstration in front of the Utkal University on Monday demanding online examination.
Students from the University Law College, Capital Law College, Madhu Sudan Law College and The Law College protested against the decision to conduct pending semester examinations in offline mode.
They alleged that they were being forced to appear the pending four semesters- 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th- in the ensuing six months in offline mode.
A detailed examination schedule has been issued by Utkal University.
The pending 3rd and 7th semester exams will start from September 13.
Similarly, the first and fifth semester exams will start from September 13, 2021. The remaining 8th, 9th and 10 semester exams will be conducted after Durga Puja holidays.
