Bijepur BDO detained by Odisha Vigilance

Bargarh: Bijepur BDO Padmanabha Samantray has been detained by the Odisha Vigilance after he was caught while travelling with over Rs 3.51 lakh unaccounted cash near Binika bridge on Sunday.

The officials of the anti-corruption wing have taken Samantray to Vigilance office at Sonepur for questioning.

According to reports, the official was heading towards Bhubaneswar from Bijepur in the vehicle when the anti-corruption agency sleuths intercepted the car at Binika.

On searching the vehicle, the Vigilance officers found Rs 3.51 lakh cash, which the BDO couldn’t account for satisfactorily.

His houses in Bargarh, Puri and Bhubaneswar were being searched by the Vigilance.
