Brown sugar worth over Rs 1 crore seized in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The Special Task Force (STF) of the Odisha Crime Branch seized more than one kg of brown sugar worth over Rs 1 crore in the Rasulgarh area of Bhubaneswar.

The STF arrested two drug peddlers in this connection.

The accused have been identified as Rakibul Laskar (30) and Sudhanya Gayen (44) of West Bengal.

Acting on an intelligence input, a raid was conducted by the STF team and seized 1.025 kg brown sugar from their possession.

They could not produce any valid authority in support of possession of such contraband materials, for which the accused persons were arrested.
