Odisha govt announces Kalia Yojana assistance for Puri district farmers

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday announced assistance under Kalia Yojana for farmers in Puri district.

The beneficiaries of the scheme in Puri district will receive Rs 2000 each for Rabi season 2021-22.

The government would release Rs 33.03 crore to the bank accounts of 1,65,131 small and marginal farmers.

Notably, the state government had released Rs 742.58 crore to the bank accounts of 37.12 lakh farmers across the state on September 11. However, Kalia Yojana assistance could not be released to the farmers of Puri due to Pipili by-poll.
