Assistant programmer of Boudh RTO arrested for forgery


Bhubaneswar: An assistant programmer of the RTO Office, Boudh was arrested today for forgery and manipulation of records.

Ranjan Kumar Das was found involved in fraudulent activities during an enquiry. 

On receipt of the enquiry report today, Arun Bothra, Transport Commissioner ordered to file FIR in this matter.  Subsequently, MVI in-charge Salkhu Murmu filed the FIR at Boudh Police Station.

It was found that Das has misused the user ID and password of additional RTO (Enforcement) & in-charge MVI Salkhu Murmu.  By using the log-in and password, the accused got access to Vahan portal.  Thereafter, he issued Fitness Certificate to 117 vehicles fraudulently. 

During the enquiry, it was found that these vehicles actually belonged to Barbil area.  However, the accused Ranjan Kumar Das issued Fitness Certificate showing the vehicles present at Boudh. 

It is pertinent to mention that before his posting at RTO, Boudh, Das was working at the office of additional RTO, Barbil.
