Odisha CM launches air health service ‘Mukhyamantri Bayu Swasthya Seva’

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday launched Mukhyamantri Bayu Swasthya Seva to fly medical specialists in chartered planes to remote districts in the state.

The air ambulance service has been rolled out in Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi and Nuapada for providing better health services to the people of these districts.

CM Naveen flagged off the first flight, carrying a team of doctors, from the Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar. A medical team from Cuttack SCB Medical College and Hospital flew to the Malkangiri District Headquarters Hospital.

The prospective patients have already been selected through tele-consultation held earlier.

Naveen expressed his happiness after inaugurating the air ambulance service and hoped that the new scheme will cater the people from the economically weaker sections of the four remote districts.

Health Minister Naba Kishore Das, Chief Secretary Suresh Mohapatra, 5T Secretary VK Pandian and several senior officials of the State Government were present on the occasion.
