Odisha CM announces house repair assistance under Biju Pucca Ghar Yojana


Bhubaneswar: Ahead of the panchayat polls, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday announced one-time assistance of Rs 3,000 to all beneficiaries of Biju Pucca Ghar Yojana (BPGY), Nirman Shramik Pucca Ghar Yojna and BPGY (mining) to repair their houses.

The Chief Minister also announced that Rs 5,000 will be provided to each eligible people, who are waiting for Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Grameen (PMAY-G).

The announcement came after the state Cabinet approved the proposal.

Around 30 lakh families would be benefited following the move.

The state government will bear an additional burden of Rs 1444 crore for this purpose. The amount will be met from BPGY budget, said the Chief Minister.

The assistance will be deposited in the bank accounts of beneficiaries.
