Odisha: 50% salary hike of junior teachers


Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday announced 50 percent salary hike of the junior teachers in the state.

Both the permanent and contractual teachers will get benefitted with this salary hike.

The hike will be effective from January 2022.

The junior teachers will get Rs 13,800 as salary against Rs 9,200 at present. Likewise, contractual junior teachers, who are getting Rs 7400 currently, will get Rs 11,000 as salary.

A total of 33,038 teachers will be benefitted with this decision.

The government will incur an additional expenditure of Rs 168 crore with the salary hike of the junior teachers.
