Russia-Ukraine conflict: Helpline number for Odias stranded in Ukraine


Bhubaneswar: Russia – Ukraine conflict has led to certain serious consequences for citizens from different Countries staying / pursuing studies in Ukraine. Some of the students from Odisha pursing education in Ukraine are now trapped in the conflict zone.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has taken up the matter with Hon’ble Union Home Minister and Union External Affairs Minister to find ways and means of bringing back the stranded persons of Odisha from the conflict zone at the earliest. Accordingly, the Resident Commissioner, New Delhi (Odisha Bhawan) has been designated as the Nodal Officer to liaise with Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of External Affairs and coordinate the early return of such persons from Ukraine.

 Chief Minister has further directed that Special Relief Commissioner’s Office will liaise with Resident Commissioner to facilitate the return of the stranded. The State Government will bear all the expenditure of their travel from Ukraine to New Delhi and to Bhubaneswar. Padmanav Behera, OAS(S), Joint Relief Commissioner will be the coordinator in Special Relief Commissioner’s Office for this purpose.
